Workplace Literacy

The 225,000 functionally illiterate adults who are currently working in Atlanta cost employers $840 million each year in training, safety issues, lost time, injuries, poor performance, and job turnover. Our Workplace Literacy program is a fee-for-service, on-the-job program to help employees in Basic Literacy or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

What can Workforce Literacy do for you?

LVA’s Workforce Literacy Program can:

  • Reduce error rate
  • Reduce time-per-task
  • Aid in customer retention
  • Increase business profitability
  • Improve the health and safety records of employees
  • Increase employee retention• Heighten team performance
  • Increase quality of work
  • Improve employee morale and self-esteem

All of these objectives translate into greater productivity and, in the private sector, higher profits. These benefits are offered to your organization at minimal cost.

"These programs don't just benefit our employees. They pay back Georgia Tech by helping us with recruitment and retention." ---Deborah Covin Wilson, Georgia Institute of Technology

"I like learning English at Georgia Tech because I need to communicate at my job." --Guillermina Sanchez, Georgia Institute of Technology, Housing Dept.
